In-person classes have no join link, so nothing records attendance automatically. Someone has to mark each student for each session. The campus marks attendance from its portal, and the teacher of the batch can mark it from the live session editor. Both write to the same register.
When the register opens
- In the campus portal a class's register opens on the class's own day, whether or not registration is still open: students who join late are added to the list as they register.
- A cancelled class has no register; a moved class opens on its new day. Use Change next to a class to cancel, move, mark held or restore it.
- Registration closes when NSDP closes it, when every seat is taken, or when the closing date passes.
- A session in the future is labelled this session has not happened yet. Mark it on the day.
For the campus: taking the register
Step 1: Open Batches and expand the batch
The Attendance open figure at the top of Batches counts the batches ready to mark.
Sign in to open this screenStep 2: Choose Attendance on a session
The register opens on the most recent session that has happened. Use the arrows to move between sessions.
Step 3: Mark each student
Choose Present, Absent or Left early. Mark all present (or Mark page present when the list has several pages) fills them in one go; then change the few who were absent.
Step 4: Save
Choose Save and confirm. The confirmation lists how many of each mark you are saving. Each student is saved separately; any that fail stay marked on screen so you can try again.
- The register shows 50 students per page. Search by name, student code or email.
- Each row shows when the mark was last updated, or Was Absent · unsaved for a change you haven't saved yet.
- Unsaved marks are kept when you change page within the register, but switching session or closing the register asks Discard unsaved attendance? first.
- The reload button fetches the register again, for example after the teacher has marked some students.
The marks
What each status means
- PresentAttended the class. Counts toward certificates. Shown as attended in the teacher's editor.
- AbsentDid not attend. Shown as missed in the editor.
- Left earlyCame but left before the end. Doesn't count toward certificates. Shown as left in the editor.
- Checked inUnder More. Arrived but not yet confirmed as present. Doesn't count.
- Not markedUnder More. No mark yet. Counts as not attended.
For the teacher: marking from the editor
Step 1: Open the live session
From Live Sessions, edit the session and go to the Batches tab.
Sign in to open this screenStep 2: Find the class
Open the batch's timetable and, under the class, choose Attendance.
Step 3: Mark students
The dialog shows Enrolled, Joined, Attended, Missed and Left counts. For each student choose attended, missed or left. Each choice is saved as you click.
Correcting a mark
- Open the session again, change the mark and save. The latest mark is the one that counts, whoever made it.
- Correcting a mark doesn't take back a certificate that was already issued. If a student no longer meets the minimum, the campus can revoke the certificate from Certificates.
- A student who reaches the minimum after a correction can still be issued a certificate.

FAQ
We marked a student Present by mistake and a certificate was issued.
Correct the mark, then revoke the certificate from Certificates if the student no longer meets the minimum. A revoked certificate is never re-issued automatically.
Can students see their attendance?
Not in the portal at the moment. Students see their schedule and the campus and venue for each class.
Why can't the campus mark attendance yet?
The class's day has not come yet, or the class was cancelled. The register opens on the class's own day.
A student who attends isn't on the register.
Only students with a place in the batch are listed. Ask NSDP to check the student's registration.
