Students can ask questions under the lessons of a recorded course. The Comments page collects these conversations for the recorded courses NSDP attached to your campus, so your campus can follow them. The courses belong to their teachers, so the page is for reading: the teacher and NSDP approve, answer and delete.
Which comments appear here
- Lesson comments and replies on the recorded courses NSDP attached to your campus.
- Not the courses of teachers who work at your campus. A teacher's recorded course belongs to the teacher alone; its comments reach your campus only if NSDP attaches that course.
- With no course attached there is no Comments row in the menu, and the address opens the campus home.
- If NSDP detaches a course, its comments leave this page.
Reading the conversations
Step 1: Open Comments
A View only note heads the page. The figures count the conversations and how many are still waiting for review.
Sign in to open this screenStep 2: Filter
Use the tabs (All Comments, Pending, Approved, Rejected), or filter by course, read state and date. Search looks in the message and the author's name or email.
Step 3: Open a thread
See the whole conversation with the lesson it belongs to, without leaving the list.
Step 4: Mark it read
Use Mark as Read or Mark as New to keep track of what you have seen.
What you can and cannot do
| Action | For a campus |
|---|---|
| Read a conversation | Yes, every conversation on a course attached to your campus. |
| Mark as Read / Mark as New | Yes. It is your own bookkeeping and does not change what students see. |
| Approve or reject a comment | No. The course's teacher and NSDP decide. |
| Reply, publicly or privately | No. The course's teacher and NSDP answer. |
| Delete a comment | No. |
Comment statuses
What each status means
- PendingWaiting for the teacher or NSDP. Other students don't see it yet.
- ApprovedVisible in the course discussion.
- RejectedHidden from the course discussion.
A course's own Comments tab
Each attached course has a Comments tab with the same view, pinned to that course, and a Waiting for review count. Its All campus comments button opens this page filtered to the course.
Who moderates
The course's teacher moderates and answers from the teacher portal, and NSDP staff can moderate any course. What they decide shows here: a comment the teacher approves shows as approved on this page too.
While the campus is suspended
Nothing changes on this page: you can still read every conversation and mark threads read or unread.
FAQ
There is no Comments row in our menu.
No recorded course is attached to your campus. The row appears once NSDP attaches one.
Why don't I see comments on a course one of our teachers made?
A teacher's recorded course belongs to the teacher alone and has no connection to the campus. Its comments appear here only if NSDP attaches that course to your campus.
Why can't we reply or approve?
The course belongs to its teacher. Your campus reads along; the teacher and NSDP approve, reply and delete.
Students say they can't comment on a lesson.
Comments can be switched off per section by the course's teacher or NSDP. Ask them.
