Each campus has one portal login, created by NSDP for the campus email address. There are two ways NSDP can hand it over to you.

How your login is set up

How NSDP set it upWhat you do
Set-password link by emailThe email your campus portal login lists the campus, its code, the login email and the sign-in page. Open Set your password and choose a password. The link is valid for 7 days and works once. After that, sign in at the campus sign-in page.
Temporary password given to youSign in with it. The portal then asks you to choose your own password before you can continue.

Signing in

  1. Step 1: Go to the campus sign-in page

Use the campus portal's own page, /campus/sign_in, not the student and teacher sign-in page. It has a Student or teacher? Sign in here link if you land on the wrong one.

Sign in to open this screen
  2. Step 2: Choose Email code or Password

With Email code, a 6-digit code is sent to the campus email address; it expires after 10 minutes. With Password, enter the campus email and password.

  3. Step 3: Replace a temporary password

If you signed in with a temporary password, you see Choose your own password before anything else. See below.

Choosing your own password

Fields on this form

Temporary passwordRequired
The password NSDP gave you.
New passwordRequired10–72 characters
Must include an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a number, and be different from the temporary one. The checklist under the field ticks each rule as you type. The eye button shows or hides what you typed.
Confirm new passwordRequired
The same password again.

Choose Save and continue. You stay signed in and go straight to the portal. Sign out on the same screen leaves without changing anything.

Messages you might see

  • “The current password is not correct.”

FixRe-enter the temporary password exactly as NSDP gave it.

  • “The passwords do not match.”

FixType the new password the same way in both fields.

  • “A rule message such as "Use at least 10 characters."”

WhyThe new password is the same as the temporary one, is longer than 72 characters, or misses one of the rules.

FixChoose a different password that ticks every rule in the checklist. You can change it again later under Account & security.

If you forget the password

  • Choose Forgot password? on the campus sign-in page and enter the campus email. The reset link lasts 60 minutes and works once.
  • Or sign in with an Email code instead; no password needed.
  • If NSDP resets the campus password, every device is signed out and a new set-password link is emailed to the campus address.

Sharing the login

  • Share the login only with the people at your campus who run the portal. Everything done in the portal is recorded as done by your campus.
  • Sessions last up to one day; after that you are asked to sign in again.
  • If someone who knew the password leaves, change it under Account & security (every other device is signed out at once), or use Forgot password?.
