Teacher interviews: what your campus sees

NSDP usually interviews a candidate you put forward before deciding. What the interview booking shows, the email you receive, what each outcome means, and what your campus should do.

After checking the details of a teacher you put forward, NSDP usually meets the candidate before it decides. NSDP arranges the interview; your campus's part is to make sure the candidate knows about it and attends.

What the booking shows

When NSDP books an interview, the request's status changes to Interview booked and the card shows an Interview booked box with:

LineWhat it tells you
WhenThe date and time of the interview.
HowIn person, Online or By phone.
Where / Link / NumberThe address for an in-person interview, the meeting link for an online one (it opens in a new tab), or the number for a phone interview.
InterviewerThe name of the person interviewing, when NSDP gives one.

The progress track on the card shows the interview under Interview, and the With NSDP figure at the top of the Teachers page counts how many interviews are booked.

The interview email

  • NSDP emails the campus address with the subject Interview scheduled for your teacher request, naming the candidate and the request reference.
  • The email gives the format, the date and time, and the place, link or number in one line (format, then date and time, then place), plus any message from NSDP.
  • It asks you to make sure the candidate is informed and attends. The candidate is not emailed by the portal, so pass the details on.
  • If NSDP changes the booking, the card shows the new details and you are emailed again.

What your campus should do

  1. Step 1: Tell the candidate

Share the date, time, format and place, link or number. Use Copy profile or the copy icons if you need the candidate's details.

  2. Step 2: Check they can attend

If the time doesn't work, contact NSDP straight away with the request reference. The portal has no reschedule button.

  3. Step 3: Make sure they attend

A missed interview is recorded as Did not attend, which can lead to the request being rejected.

  4. Step 4: Watch for the decision

NSDP decides after the interview. Follow the request on the Requests tab; you are also emailed.

FAQ

Is every candidate interviewed?

Usually. NSDP decides whether an interview is needed; if it decides without one, the track shows Not held.

The candidate can't make the time. Can we change it?

Not in the portal. Contact NSDP administration with the request reference and the times the candidate can do.

Should someone from the campus attend?

The portal doesn't say so. Follow any instructions in NSDP's email or message.

The candidate missed the interview. What now?

Contact NSDP quickly. If the request is later rejected you may be able to resubmit it, which uses one of the 3 attempts.
