Reviews keep the catalogue accurate. When a course (or an instructor's live class) is sent for review, an NSDP reviewer checks it and approves it or asks for changes. Campus courses are always reviewed; instructors' own courses and live classes are reviewed when the school requires it, which is the default. On something that is already live, saving is not submitting: your saved changes wait until you send them.
Two kinds of review
| Kind | When | What students see meanwhile |
|---|---|---|
| First publish | You submit something for the first time. | Nothing. It stays a draft until it is approved. |
| Changes to a live course | You submit saved edits to something that is already published: curriculum, information, intro video or release timing. | The approved version, unchanged, until your changes are approved. |
Saving is not submitting

Good outcome: Live
Approved changes show in the student portal and on the website.
- While a course is a draft, saving updates it straight away and nothing is sent.
- On a published course, each save keeps your edits in a private working version. The top of the course says You have changes that are not submitted.
- Nothing reaches NSDP, and nothing changes for students, until you submit.
Sending for review
Step 1: Finish and save all your edits
Everything you have saved is sent together. Unsaved changes on a tab are not sent.
Step 2: Choose the submit button at the top
Submit for review on a draft; Submit changes for review on a live course or class. On the instructor's Recorded courses list, Submit for review, Resubmit and Send changes open the course for this step.
Step 3: Write what you changed
The window asks What did you change? The note is required, at least 10 characters. The reviewer reads it first and it is kept in the review history.
Step 4: Choose Send to NSDP
You see Sent to NSDP for review. You will see the result here once it is reviewed. Choose Not yet instead if something is still left to change.

Under review

Stop / exit: Changes requested
The reviewer wants something changed. Nothing new goes live. Update it and resubmit.

Good outcome: Approved
The course or the changes are live for students.
What the labels mean
- Not submittedNever sent, or a request was withdrawn.
- Not submitted yetReview requests page: you saved changes to a live course or class but have not sent them.
- In NSDP review / In review / With NSDP for reviewA request is waiting. A new course stays a draft.
- Changes in reviewEdits to a live course are waiting; students see the approved version.
- Changes requested / Returned for changesSent back with a note. Make the changes and submit again.
- Approved / Approved · liveThe latest submitted version is live.
- WithdrawnThe request was pulled back. The edits are kept.
Editing again after you submit
- Editing is never blocked. You can keep working while NSDP reviews what you sent.
- Changes you save after submitting are kept separately. They are not added to the request NSDP is reviewing. The course says Your earlier submission is with NSDP · newer changes are not submitted.
- When the newer edits are done, choose Submit the new changes and write a note again.
- If the course changed after you submitted (for example someone else saved it), NSDP may ask you to submit it again so they review the latest version.
The Review requests page (instructors)
Review requests in the instructor menu (under Teaching) lists everything you sent to NSDP for your recorded courses, live Zoom classes and on-campus courses, with the result.
- Figures at the top: With NSDP, Not submitted, Returned and Approved.
- Filters: All, Waiting, Not submitted, Returned and Approved.
- Open a row to read What you said you changed, NSDP's answer, the parts changed and the history of the request.
- Open and submit takes you to the course or class when there is something to send; otherwise the button reads Open.
Withdrawing a request
- Campuses: Withdraw from review in the course header while the request is waiting (Review request withdrawn. You can keep editing and send it again when ready.). A draft goes back to Not submitted; a live course stays as approved, and your saved changes are kept for you to submit again.
- Instructors: there is no withdraw button. Keep editing and submit again, or ask NSDP administration.
Reviewer notes
- When changes are requested, the note NSDP left is shown at the top of the course: Reviewer note: “…”.
- Instructors also read it on Review requests, under NSDP's answer. Campuses also see NSDP: … on the course list.
- No email is sent when a review is decided; check the status in your portal.
After approval
- Approved changes go live everywhere at once: the student portal and the website.
- NSDP keeps a copy of each approved version and can restore an earlier one if that is ever needed.
Tips for a quick approval
- Make sure every published lesson has its content: videos uploaded, quizzes and assignments set up, PDFs and audio attached.
- Check the title, description, learning details and cover image read well to a student.
- Finish your edits before sending, and write a clear note: say which module, lesson or field you changed.
- Campus courses can be taken back with Withdraw from review while they are waiting, if you need to keep working on them.
- The Launch checklist on Setup and the Review readiness list on Curriculum show what reviewers look for.
When a school doesn't review teachers' courses
If the school has switched off review for instructors, an instructor's own course or live class is published straight away (the button reads Publish course) and edits to it apply at once. Courses that belong to a campus are still reviewed.
FAQ
I saved my changes. Why don't students see them?
Saving a live course keeps your changes private. Choose Submit changes for review at the top, write what you changed and send it. Students see the changes once NSDP approves them.
Why do I have to write what I changed?
The reviewer reads the note first, so they know what to check, and it stays in the history of the request. At least 10 characters are needed.
How long does a review take?
It depends on NSDP's queue. Watch the review status, or Review requests in the instructor portal.
Do students lose access while my changes are reviewed?
No. They keep the approved version until the changes are approved.
I chose Publish Course on Information and the course is still a draft. What happened?
If the course needs review, it was sent for review and stays a draft until approved. The review status shows In NSDP review. Using Submit for review at the top of the course does the same and lets you add your note.
Are certificates reviewed?
No. The certificate design is set by NSDP and is not part of course review.
Is the price reviewed?
No. The fee is set by NSDP, so instructors and campuses have no price to submit.
