Creating a course and getting it published

The whole path of a recorded course in the instructor portal: the New course page, the fee set by NSDP, the intro video, building the curriculum, sending the course for review, and saving then submitting changes once it is live.

This is the end-to-end path for a recorded (self-paced) course. Each step links to a detailed guide. Nothing is visible to students until the course is published, which usually means NSDP has reviewed it.

The fee and the certificate are set by NSDP

  • Fee. A recorded course costs Rs 1,000 per month, times the months the course takes, paid in one payment at checkout. You see the amount on the New course page and on the course's Pricing tab, but you cannot change it. See Setting a course's price.
  • Certificate. Students who finish the course receive the NSDP certificate for self-paced courses. You do not design it; you can preview it on the course's Certificates tab. See The certificate of a recorded course.

Uploading images, videos and files

Every upload (cover image, intro video, lesson videos and files) opens the same upload window. Drag and drop the file into it, or browse from your device, and watch the progress there. The file is attached when the upload finishes.

3. Submit it for review

  1. Step 1: Open the course and choose Submit for review

The button is at the top of the course. On the Recorded courses list, Submit for review on a row opens the course for you.

  2. Step 2: Say what you made

The Submit this course for review? window asks What did you change? Write at least 10 characters, for example what the first version contains. Then choose Send to NSDP.

  3. Step 3: Wait for NSDP

The review status shows In NSDP review (In review on the list). When it is approved the course is Published and the review status Approved.

  4. Step 4: If changes are requested

The review status shows Changes requested and the course shows the reviewer's note. Update the course and choose Resubmit for review.

4. After it is live: save, then submit

Saved, not submitted yet. Students keep the approved version.

Approves, or returns them with a note.

  4. System

    Good outcome: Changes go live

In the student portal and on the website.

  • Saving is not submitting. On a live course your saved edits (curriculum, information, intro video, release settings) stay private. The course shows You have changes that are not submitted.
  • When all your edits are done, choose Submit changes for review at the top of the course, write what you changed (at least 10 characters) and choose Send to NSDP. Everything you have saved is sent together.
  • You can keep editing after you submit. The newer edits are saved separately and must be submitted again (Submit the new changes).
  • Review requests in the menu lists everything you sent, NSDP's answer and any saved changes still waiting to be submitted.
  • Follow students on the course's Students tab, mark work on Assignment marking and answer questions on Course discussions.
  • A published course can only be deleted by NSDP administration.

Your Recorded courses list

  • Figures: Courses, Published, In review and Changes requested.
  • Search by title, code or category, or filter by status. Each row shows the price, the date created, the Status (Draft, Published, Archived) and the Review state (Not submitted, In review, Changes in review, Changes requested, Approved).
  • A row may show Submit for review, Resubmit or Send changes. Each one opens the course, where you say what you changed and submit.
  • The ⋯ menu opens Course setup, Curriculum, Information, Students, Comments and Preview as a student. A draft that was never published also has Delete draft.

FAQ

Why can't I change the price?

NSDP sets one fee for every recorded course (Rs 1,000 per month, times the months the course takes, paid in one payment at checkout). The page shows it, but the fields are locked.

I saved my changes but students don't see them. Why?

On a live course, saving keeps your changes private. Choose Submit changes for review; they go live once NSDP approves them.

Do I have to add an intro video?

No, it is optional. It is recommended because students trust a course more when they have seen who teaches it. You can add or change it later on Information → Basic Details, under the course image.

Where can I read the reviewer's note?

At the top of the course when changes are requested, and on Review requests under NSDP's answer.

Can I take a course back out of review?

Not from the instructor portal. Keep editing and submit again; ask NSDP if the review should be stopped.

Can I duplicate a course?

Duplicating is done by NSDP administration.

How long does review take?

It depends on NSDP's queue. Review requests shows where it is.
