Rating a course or class

Rate a course once you finish it (or reach halfway through a self-paced course), and a class once it is over. One tap on the stars is enough; details are optional. NSDP checks every review before it appears on the NSDP website, and you can edit yours once.

Your rating helps the next student choose a course and helps your instructor teach better. You rate from the student portal; NSDP checks the review and then publishes it on the NSDP website, where the instructor (or the campus, for an on-campus class) can reply.

Where you'll be asked

  • Home: the Rate your courses card lists up to three courses and classes waiting for a rating, each with a Rate button.
  • Certificates: a Rate this course (or Rate this class) strip under a certificate it matches.
  • Lesson player: Rate this course under your progress, once you may rate it.
  • Explore: a course, live class or on-site course details page has a Student reviews section (see below). Its button opens the same rating window when you may rate it.
  • My reviews: everything you rated, and a Waiting for your rating list.

Once you have rated something, these prompts change to You rated this · My reviews, which opens your review.

Rating, step by step

  1. Step 1: Tap Rate

The rating window asks How was the course. On a phone it slides up from the bottom.

  2. Step 2: Tap a star

3, 4 or 5 stars are saved at once: you see Your N-star rating is saved. Add details below, or skip.

  3. Step 3: Add details, or skip

Write a review, a short title, rate the details and say whether you'd recommend it, then Save details. Or press Skip.

  4. Step 4: Done

Thank you for your review. See my reviews shows where it stands.

Sign in to open this screen

1 or 2 stars work differently: the window asks you to Tell us what went wrong so the instructor can fix it first, and nothing is saved until you press Send review.

Where your review stands

What each status means

  • SendingSaved in the portal, not yet with the NSDP website. It is sent shortly; you can still change it.
  • In reviewWith the NSDP website, waiting for the team's check.
  • PublishedApproved and shown on the NSDP website.
  • Not publishedThe NSDP team decided not to publish it.
  • RemovedThe NSDP team removed it. It can no longer be edited.
  • Needs a changeThe NSDP website could not accept it. The message under the review says why: edit it and save.

My reviews checks the NSDP website for news about your reviews at most every two minutes.

When a review is still sending

If the NSDP website can't be reached, your review stays saved and shows Saved. We'll send it to the NSDP website shortly. The portal keeps trying by itself, waiting longer between tries (from 5 minutes up to 6 hours). On My reviews, Try again sends everything still waiting right away.

Changing your review

  • On My reviews, press Edit under the review, change it and Save changes.
  • You can change a review once. The changed review goes back to the NSDP team's check before it shows again.
  • While a review is still Sending or Needs a change, changes don't count as your edit yet (Not sent yet: you can still change it.).
  • Instructors and campuses can reply to a review, but they can never change or delete it.

Replies from the instructor

The instructor, or the campus for an on-campus class, may reply once to a published review. NSDP checks the reply too; once it is approved it appears under your review on My reviews as Reply from the instructor, and on the NSDP website.

Reading other students' reviews in Explore

  • A course, live class or on-site course details page in Explore has a Student reviews section with the published reviews from the NSDP website: the average, how many students gave each star, and the newest reviews with any approved instructor replies.
  • When you may rate that course or class, the section has a Rate this course (or Rate this class) button that opens the same rating window. Once you have rated it, the button becomes You rated this · My reviews. Otherwise a note says you can rate a course once you complete it or are halfway through, and a class once your batch is over.
  • The figures and reviews come from the NSDP website and can take up to five minutes to change after the NSDP team publishes a review. If the website can't be reached, the section says Reviews are unavailable right now.
  • A teacher's or campus's profile page in Explore shows the ratings and reviews of that instructor's or campus's courses and classes. You don't rate a person or a campus directly: their ratings come from course and class reviews.

FAQ

I don't see My reviews in my menu.

Ratings are open for the NSDP school only for now. Students of other schools don't have them yet.

Why is nothing waiting for my rating?

Courses appear once you complete them (or reach halfway through a self-paced course), and classes once their batch is over. Anything you already rated leaves the list.

My review isn't on the NSDP website yet.

Every review is checked before it appears. While it shows In review the NSDP team hasn't decided yet.

Who sees my review?

Once published, everyone on the NSDP website, with your name. The instructor or campus can reply but can't change or delete it.

Can I rate a teacher or a campus?

Not directly. You rate the course or class; the teacher's and campus's ratings are worked out from those reviews.
