Answering NSDP's questions on a teacher request

When a teacher request shows Information needed, NSDP has paused its review and asked you something. How to revise the request and send it back without using up an attempt.

For:Campuses4 min read7 sectionsUpdated 26 September 2026

Sometimes NSDP can't decide on a teacher you put forward until it hears from you: a document won't open, a qualification is unclear, a phone number doesn't work. Instead of rejecting the request, NSDP marks it Information needed and writes you a message. You answer by revising the request and sending it back.

How you find out

  • NSDP emails the campus address: More information needed for your teacher request, with NSDP's message.
  • On Teachers → Requests the card shows Information needed and a box NSDP needs more information quoting the message.
  • The Needs your action figure at the top of the Teachers page counts it, and the Needs action filter lists it.

Revising and sending it back

  1. Step 1: Open the request

Go to Teachers → Requests and choose Needs action, or follow the link in the email.

Sign in to open this screen
  2. Step 2: Press Revise & send back

The revise page opens with What NSDP asked for at the top. If the message mentions something like documents or a phone number, the page says which step it looks like it is about and opens the form there.

  3. Step 3: Add what NSDP asked for

The form is filled in with what you sent last time, and every step is open. Change or add what NSDP asked about, for example upload a missing document or correct a link.

  4. Step 4: Check the review step

Under What you are sending back you see how many answers you changed and in which steps. NSDP sees the updated details.

  5. Step 5: Add a note (optional)

Use Note to NSDP to explain what you added or to answer a question that doesn't fit the form. Up to 1,000 characters.

  6. Step 6: Send back to NSDP

The confirmation says Request sent back with the same reference. NSDP picks the review up where it paused.

If nothing needs to change

Sometimes the answer is an explanation rather than a change to the form. If you send the request back with no changed answers, the review step says Nothing has changed since NSDP asked for more information. Tick I confirm I want to send the same details back, with my note., write your answer in the note, and send.

  1. NSDP

    Information needed

NSDP pauses the review and writes to you.

  2. Campus

    Revise & send back

You update the answers and add an optional note.

  3. NSDP

    Back with NSDP

The review continues; NSDP sees what changed and your note.

  4. NSDP

    Good outcome: Decision

    Approved, rejected, or another question.

  • NSDP can ask more than once. Each time the request comes back to you as Information needed.
  • Your earlier answers are replaced by the revised ones; the reference and attempt number stay the same.
  • The same duplicate checks as a new request run again, so changing the email or CNIC to someone else's open request is refused.

FAQ

Is there a deadline to answer?

The portal doesn't set one, but NSDP can't continue until you answer. Reply as soon as you can.

The box says NSDP did not add a message.

Check the details against what NSDP usually needs (documents that open, correct phone and email) and send the request back, or contact NSDP to ask what is missing.

Does answering count as one of our three attempts?

No. Only a rejection followed by a resubmission uses an attempt.

There is no Revise & send back button.

The button only appears while NSDP is waiting on you and the campus is active. If the status is no longer Information needed, NSDP has moved on.
