Account & security is about how you sign in to the teacher portal: your login email, your password and the devices that are signed in. Your public name, photo and bio are edited separately under Profile.

Opening the page

  1. Step 1: Open the account menu

Choose your account card in the sidebar, or your name in the top bar.

  2. Step 2: Choose Account & security

It sits under Profile in the menu. The page has three panels: Sign-in details, Change password and Sessions.

Changing your password

  1. Step 1: Enter your current password

The password you sign in with now.

  2. Step 2: Choose a new password

The checklist under the field ticks each rule as you type. The eye button shows or hides what you typed.

  3. Step 3: Type it again and choose Change password

You see Password changed. Every other browser and phone must sign in again; the device you are using stays signed in.

Fields on this form

Current passwordRequired
The password you use now.
New passwordRequired10–72 characters
Must include an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a number, and be different from the current one.
Confirm new passwordRequired
The same new password again.

Signing out other devices

Under Sessions, choose Sign out of all other devices, then Sign out other devices to confirm. Every other browser and phone signed in to your teacher login must sign in again. This device stays signed in.

  • Use it if you signed in on a shared computer, lost a phone, or think someone else knows your password.
  • If the password may be known, change it as well: signing out other devices doesn't change the password.
  • Changing your password already signs out every other device, so you don't need to do both for that.

Recent sign-ins

The Recent sign-ins list under Sessions shows your latest sign-ins, newest first, with the time, the way you signed in and the address used. The newest is marked Latest. If you see one you don't recognise, sign out the other devices and change your password.
